What I'm Loving Now...

Jewelry
Here are some amazing pieces I have found that I absolutely love (but definitely cannot afford)! Hopefully you all will enjoy their beauty and craftsmanship as much as I do!
Fiona Paxton
Brooklyn Necklace in Gold
$288 from shopbob.com
House of Harlow 1960
Chevron Station Necklace in Gold
$225 from shopbop.com
Pamela Love
Silver Picado Necklace
$400 from www.bonadrag.com
Erickson Beamon
Chain Gang Earrings
in Crystal
$345 from shopbop.com

Soo Iln Kim
Luca Pleated Ring
in Gold
$62 from shopbop.com

These are all such unique pieces! Lately I've been really liking the juxtaposition of art deco with tribal designs, and I've always loved Day of the Dead inspired art and jewelry. Just thought instead of doing yet another belated "Art That's Inspiring Me" I'd try something different.

I'm sorry that the previous work that I've promised to post hasn't been posted yet. I'm testing out different export settings to see how to get the best quality I can with an upload time that is reasonable. I attempted to upload a video today, and after an hour and a half it was only at 11%. Hope everyone in Atlanta is enjoying the colder weather! I know I am! It's so great to wear a sweatshirt again! Take care, everyone! -Kay

TAG: Going Off to College

My friend Ebby of EvelynBlogs had a great post for people going off to college this fall. I'm just going to expand on her already extensive list of things that may be helpful for new college students. Here's a link to the original post so you can check it out!

MY SUGGESTED SHOPPING LIST FOR NEW COLLEGE STUDENTS...

#1  SUNSCREEN because nothing is grosser than peeling all over your lab partner...

High End= Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Sun Defense SPF 50 $30 (lotion) $20 (Stick)

Mid Range= Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock $11

Low End= CVS Sunscreen, SPF 50 $8.49

#2  BABY WIPES your fellow students will appreciate the fact that you don't smell like a locker room. TRUST ME!!!
I always had a plastic bag with a few of these in my purse to freshen up when I was feeling sweaty after walking to class or just needed a quick way to feel cleaner. These are a great thing to have in your bag,  especially during midterms and finals when you might not get to shower as often as you'd like. When you've been up all night studying and have to run to class, they are the quickest way to make you feel less like a smelly animal and more like a human being again.

#3  ALL PURPOSE MOISTURIZER in your bag or your bathroom, these are great for cuticles, hands, knees, and elbows. In a pinch I've also used them on my lips and face, though they can break you out, so I don't recommend doing that everyday. These are also good for minor abrasions, burns, blisters, and callouses.
High End= Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Skin Protectant $17

Mid Range= Burt's Bees Hand Salve $9

Low End= CVS 100% Pure Cocoa Butter Stick $1

#4  SAFETY PINS a godsend for those of us who can't sew. Avoid a potential wardrobe malfunction and keep a few of these around...

#5  RESCUE REMEDY, VALERIAN ROOT For when you're freaking out about the amount of work you have to do, stressing over classes, or trying not to murder your roommate. Valerian root to help you get your healthy sleep without being groggy the next day, and the rescue remedy to help you mellow out and not lose your shit.
